take it away

when the take it away tour was first announced in early 2010, excitement over the
year-long tour was near immeasurable. introducing the top bands of the year - eleven of
the hottest new bands with little to no previous media exposure brought together in
a country-wide tour hitting all of the big cities. with the press swarming these kids, it was no
wonder the take it away tour was soon named one of the most controversial tours in
america. but the press wasn't the worst thing to hit these kids.
in early june, an accident hit the tour as it travelled to its next destination. involving
nearly all of the tour buses, it ended with many casualties - including two entire bands. now,
with the tour finishing its last half and with two new bands brought in to fill up the spots that
were left empty with the deaths of 'my fair ladies' and 'hypocritical refugees', there is a new
kind of drama in the tour grounds. added in to the regular drama of a tour is now the drama of
angry survivors. after half a year together, the eleven bands had built up a kind of camraderie,
a camraderie that was threatened to be shaken with the entrance of, not only two new bands,
but new band members brought in to replace some who had died. a harsh way to see the
members of the bands, as replaceable, but if they want to make it in this world, they all know
that they have to move on.
now that 'yellow butterflies' and 'shutmeup!' are on the scene, there's bound to be some action
shaking up. all the better for the press who follow the tour, don't you think?
come on kids, better make this last. because, face it-
time is in our hands.
